in 92nd meeting of the Board of Governors of Kendriya Vidyalaya

All Kendriya Vidyalayas shall have a common uniform. The following pattern of uniforms are prescribed:-

In all the places of red (such as collar, sleeves and waist) if the grey is substituted, it will be a good match for the shirts and skirts/pants and it will look great.

The colour of the top is O.K. But the bottom can be some dark colour instead of grey.Tie can be avoided as it shows some English style rather than Indian.

Now official order by KVS has been issued main points are:
The old and new uniforms may continue to be used simultaneously during the transition period for II to XI. The old ones may be weaned out of use gradually over a period of 2 years i.e. by July 2014. The parents of class I students may be instructed to get the uniform stitched for their wards as per the new uniform design. Students of class XII shall continue with the existing uniform if they so desire as they will be passing out at the end of this academic year
I feel that the hooded jackets and cardigans etc. need to be region specific... You can't have students in parts of the country which are warm even during winter running around with hooded sweatshirts.. Color could've been better to show the splendor of the KVs but anyway, who expects those old people to have a taste in fashion? But overall, much better than the older white and blue... that was a bit monochromatic to say the least :D WTG Cheers!

I am an ex-student of KV Gurgaon, honestly the old uniform was much better in looks. Though new one is also good but is not at par with the expectations. Combination of grey and red is so ticklish.
